Day 4: Aruba, the Desert Island

Next day, we arrived at Aruba. I think of it as the Desert Island because it is so dry, hasn't rained there in two years, and it looks like a flat Albuquerque. Aside from the heat, Sean was really happy because he had absolutely no allergy symptoms while we were on this island.

The wind is so strong and constant on this island, that is bends the trees to the west:
We visited the Rock Formation. From the top of the Rock Formation, I could see the ship. It was so windy on top of the rocks, that I decided to not stand up, so I kneeling down while I took the picture from the top. The entryway to the top is very narrow and you have to go under a few large rocks that look like they could crush you any minute, so I was the only one who made it up there. I thought, what the heck, travel all this way and not do it!
The battery on the camera died, so I had to take a few pictures with the iPhone:

We made it to the west part of the island, to the lighthouse.

Snakes on the Plane!
Oh, never mind, it's a cruise ship:
Up until today, the ship featured a photo of Muhammad Ali posing with the Beatles near the elevators. I liked the picture so much that Sean took a photo of it. The picture sold for $5,300.00 at an auction on the ship.
